Government

Vision:

Aligned with the AIIA / ACS Green IT initiative the Government Focus Group will engage ICT Professionals to help shape the use of sustainable and efficient ICT practices across Local government, NSW State government, Universities and Research organisation (e.g. CSIRO).


Mission:

The Green IT Government work group will work with ICT Professionals and clients of ICT services to address today’s sustainability challenges and identify solutions for a better tomorrow.  With the support of the Green IT Taskforce and the ICT industry associations ACS, AIIA and Software Qld, the work group will raise awareness; coordinate knowledge collaboration and support increased adoption of ICT-enabled sustainable business.


Our Philosophy:

The Green IT initiative is an independent, not for profit organization that is empowered through a volunteer organization of professionals and through the broad support of industry associations.  We are supported by a team of national representatives, consisting of senior industry and government executives, who will coordinate activities amongst the stakeholder groups, and address political, resource and financial issues for the initiative. Through this support we are establishing a professional, scalable model to deliver the Awareness, Knowledge and Adoption initiatives required to address the sustainability challenge.

Get Involved

The focus group provides a forum for contributing to the improvement of sustainable practises in Government organisation.  We can make a real difference by providing a synthesis of current information and package it for the full range of stakeholder groups. The group will provide an excellent kickoff for collaborating with peers, learning from them and sharing with them.
